The month of October was packed full of events and activities which raise awareness to very important issues and health concerns.
We believe that raising awareness and providing real data is the key to true help. As part of our community outreach, we always strive to assist others in terms of education.
This month our efforts included working directly with students of our Community Learning Center
A special tutoring program is now in effect which operates out of two locations! One in St. Petersburg, FL and another from the CLCs Clearwater location.
CLC is working in conjunction with the youth from both the We Believe in Me Foundation and Team Florida. Team Florida is an off-season football program generated to help athletes on and off the field.

CLC helps young athletes prepare for college by catching them up and preparing them for their college entrance exams. Many of these athletes have been offered college scholarships for their athletic abilities, but require additional help with their academics. By receiving skilled tutoring from our Community Learning Center, college is within their reach! We are happy and passionate about helping with this program.
The Truth About Drugs
CES is devoted to educating others in the harms and truth about drugs. All drugs!
We had a table at the Tampa Bay Family Expo this month! Hundreds of kids and families came by to receive free drug-education booklets and DVDs and to sign our Pledge to Live a Drug-Free Life.
As education is the key to action, we show up as often as we can with these effective materials which are provided at no charge from the Foundation for a Drug-Free World.
If we can keep even a few children from experiencing the horrors of drugs, then we are proud and happy to do this activity.
Sound Drug Policy
Sound Drug Policy is needed to protect children. If policy does not do this, then it is not good policy. Our friend and expert in this area is Mr. John Redman from CADFY (Community Alliances for Drug Free Youth). CES was proud to invite Mr. Redman to Florida to present three events to the community. Over 100 people got to hear his very informative briefing regarding marijuana and drug policy. So many things were brought to light that normally one would not consider. His entire presentation was eye-opening and very informative.
Breast Cancer Awareness
Our staff also took a serious interest in raising awareness for breast cancer. And raising action with a local and national charity which provides breast reconstruction surgery to woman in need! My Hope Chest is such an organization! CES met the founder and volunteers at a community fundraiser and we were very touched with their work. We proudly promote them and hope that you join their group in really helping women.
All month long, CES employees wore pink every Tuesday to support the awareness campaign.
