Independence Day 2020 found us celebrating our freedoms with our annual CES company picnic! This year presented a bit of a physical challenge, but in true CES form, we took the opportunity to create anew and enjoy things with new variety. This year saw a catered feast provided to our staff while supporting local businesses.

We also wanted to celebrate and show gratitude for the amazing freedoms we have here in our most amazing country! What better tribute than the Pledge of Allegiance to our country’s stars and stripes—Old Glory herself, our American Flag.

As Americans we love our 4th of July celebrations with tons of fireworks. This year a lot of community fireworks were canceled, but in true American spirit our President arranged for a spectacular celebration of America with bands and performances culminating with spectacular fireworks for us all broadcasted live from Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota.

It was something of magic! Something I have never before seen. I watched in awe and sang along with the performers and found myself prouder than ever to be a citizen of this great nation.

South Dakota’s Mount Rushmore Fireworks Celebration

The State of South Dakota, Department of Interior and National Park Service brought fireworks to Mount Rushmore National Memorial for a spectacular celebration on July 3, 2020.
